Join Thomas Scheu Business Opportunity Specialist, U.S. Small Business Administration Fresno District Office, MCSC Woman's Business Center Director Norma Dunn and Angela Watson, Program Manager Golden State PTAC as they discuss the value of a Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) certification to work with the Federal Government on December 14th, 2021 - 10am - 11am PST.

WOSB helps provide a level playing field for women business owners, the government limits competition for certain contracts to businesses that participate in the Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) Federal Contracting program.

These contracts are for specific industries where WOSBs are underrepresented. Some contracts are restricted further to economically disadvantaged women-owned small businesses (EDWOSBs). SBA maintains a list of those eligible industries and their NAICS codes.

Joining the WOSB Federal Contracting Program makes a business eligible to compete for federal contracts set aside for the program. Firms can still compete for contract awards under other socio-economic programs they qualify for.

The workshop will cover:

¨ Eligibility requirements
¨ How to obtain WOSB certification
¨ Benefits of WOSB certifications
¨ Understanding certification and registration Network.

Registration is required and participation link will be sent upon registration.
