*WEBINAR WEDNESDAY: SoCalGas official to discuss $5,000 restaurant grants

A $1 million donation from Southern California Gas Co. to the California Restaurant Foundation to support qualifying restaurants with $5,000 grants is among topics of this week’s free webinar presented by the Small Business Development Center at CSU Bakersfield.  
 
“Webinar Wednesday” will be online Wednesday, April 19 from 12 noon to 1 p.m. 
 
Host and SBDC director, Kelly Bearden will be joined by Rob Duchow, public affairs manager for the Southern California Gas Co. in Kern County and the Antelope Valley. Duchow will give details on SoCalGas' $1 million donation to California Restaurant Foundation for the Restaurants Care Resilience Fund that will provide $ 5,000 grants for qualifying independently owned restaurants. The grants will go towards technology adoption, equipment upgrades, employee onboarding and retention, or unforeseen hardships. The application period is open April 15 to May 7. 
 
Bearden will begin the webinar with a look at weather-related disaster assistance for businesses from local, state, and federal governments, the economy, and capital resources programs. 
 
Questions from attendees will be taken.
