A 12-week child care training program for aspiring entrepreneurs interested in starting a home-based child care business is among topics of this week’s free webinar presented by the Small Business Development Center at CSU Bakersfield.  
 
Host and SBDC director, Kelly Bearden will be joined by Jennifer Brooks, CEO of Nurture, a nonprofit that works with community-based organizations, small business development centers, and child care resource and referral agencies. Brooks will give details on a 12-week child care training program that will provide training, mentoring and grant assistance for new startup home-based child care businesses. Set to begin April 17, the program is available at no cost through the Central CA SBDC network service area in English and Spanish. 
 
Throughout a range of nonprofit and government settings, Brooks brings 25 years of experience in microenterprise, workforce development, financial security, asset-building, and child care. 
 
Bearden will begin the webinar with a look weather-related disaster assistance for businesses from local and state governments, the economy and banking crisis, and capital resources. 
 
Questions from attendees will be taken.  
 
This marks the 270th episode of the weekly “Webinar Wednesday” business series that provides news and information helpful to employers and business owners.
