In 1982, the Georgia SBDC conducted the first survey and presented the results to Congress to secure permanent funding for the SBDC program. Since then, the survey spread nationally and is now conducted on an annual basis to ensure your local SBDC program is able to provide services at no cost. 

How the Survey Works

• America's SBDC contracts with an independent researcher to conduct the survey of Clients who received business advising in the 2017 and/or 2018. 
• The survey measures new and retained jobs, new capital, satisfaction, comparison with state/region wide trends, and return on investment.
• The annual report with national results is published the following Fall.
• The first email with survey link will be sent on March 24th. If the survey is not completed Clients will receive followup emails on:
  • April 7
  • April 21
  • May 5
  • May 19

• Make sure your Client file is up to date by contacting your local SBDC.
• Or logging in to your Client account here.
• Respond to the emailed survey on one of the preceding dates.

Your information will be kept completely confidential. Information collected will be compiled and averaged. Completion of the survey is voluntary and your decision of whether or not to participate in the study will not affect your ability to obtain SBDC assistance in the future.
